Wood rot and carpentry repair

Rotted wood, cracked trim and damaged siding, repaired by our own carpenters before the paint goes on. Paint over bad wood fails faster than the old paint did, so we fix the wood first.

Fix it first, then paint it

The surface under the paint has to be sound. Cracked trim, rotted fascia and damaged siding make a new paint job fail sooner. We handle exterior carpentry in-house, right alongside the painting. Light carpentry is included with our premium exterior painting.

What we repair

Wood rot

Rotted wood has to come out before it spreads or causes bigger problems, and it can be home to pests. We remove the damaged material, treat the area and replace it with sound wood that is ready for paint.

Exterior trim

Cracked, split or missing trim is repaired or replaced as part of exterior prep. Clean trim is the base of a clean-looking paint job.

Siding

Damaged siding boards are replaced before painting starts, whether it is one board or a larger section, so the new coat has a proper surface to hold on to.

Interior woodwork

Baseboards, casing and similar trim inside the house can be repaired too. Ask about the scope at your estimate.

Will you tell me about rot before the job starts?

Yes. We look at the wood at the estimate, and the repairs are written into the scope before we start.

Is carpentry extra?

Carpentry and painting are quoted together but scoped separately. Your estimate shows what is painting, what is carpentry and why both are needed. We do not hide repairs inside a painting quote. Light carpentry is included with our premium exterior painting.
